ERT and Meter Configuration Accuracy for Reliable Data Collection

Field Tools for North American Gas and Water ERTs is an application developed by Itron, leveraging decades of experience in programmable metering within the gas and water utility sectors. The tool ensures the correct configuration of Itron ERTs, enabling utilities to accurately bill customers and analyze meter data through a head-end system.

Field Tools is engineered to enhance the efficiency of field workers by simplifying the installation, programming, and validation procedures of Itron ERTs. Utilizing the Itron Mobile platform, this application allows smartphones and tablets to execute various field tasks associated with managing utility meter data collection hardware.

Flexibility:

Field Tools is optimized to operate on smartphones and tablets, enabling utilities to select the most suitable and cost-effective device for each employee. This flexibility also reduces the number of mobile devices carried by field workers, enhancing operational efficiency.

Connectivity:

The mobile field worker can synchronize new configurations throughout the day using any Internet connection (cellular, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet) from various locations such as home, office, or in the field.

Programming:

Field Tools establishes a connection with a designated head-end cloud server to retrieve customer-specific meter configurations required for accurate programming of ERTs and meters in the field.

Data Validation:

Field Tools offers peace of mind to field workers and utilities by ensuring precise billing accuracy.

Network Transition:

Field Tools facilitates a seamless migration of ERTs and meters between mobile and network modes while also validating network attachment information post association. Some network functions are still under development.

Itron Wireless Communications Modules:

Field Tools utilizes the compact Itron Mobile Radio which employs Bluetooth® connectivity to link with the Field Tools app on a variety of mobile devices. These radios support Wakeup and Bubble Up ERTs.

• 40G/GB, 50W, 60W, 60WP, 100G, 100W, OpenWay Riva 500G, 500W and Intelis Gas meter, Gen5 500G and Intelis Gas meter

• Reading data, Checking status, Programming settings, Switching modes (Network/Mobile) and more.
